A pharmacist has been arrested and charged with shooting and killing two men who were visiting from out of town.

Michael H. Smith, 36, was charged with murder in the death of Christopher A. McLean, 37, and wounding in the shooting death of William M. Moore, 35.

The two men were visiting in the Tucson area when they were shot at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday.

The shooting is being investigated as an act of terrorism.

Smith was taken into custody on Monday afternoon, and he is being held on $10 million bail.

He is expected to make an initial court appearance on Tuesday.

The charges were announced by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

They did not name the victims.

McLean’s brother, Scott McLean Sr., told ABC News he is not sure what the charges will be, but that he believes it is a hate crime.

“It was an act that he did to try and hurt the people who love him,” Scott McLeod Sr. said.

It is not known how many people were inside the restaurant when the shooting occurred.

The investigation is ongoing.

The shooting comes just days after a woman was fatally shot in Phoenix after a dispute between a male and female customer.
